ATLANTIC SYMPOSIUM ON SOFTWARE BY IMPROV

Turning Prototypes into Production by Renaming the Folder

Presenter: J. River, Director of mv prototype production

Time: 14:10, immediately before due diligence

Room: The Production-Adjacent Lab

Portrait of J. River

J. River has launched dozens of production systems without allowing ceremony, readiness, or domain expertise to slow down the folder rename.

Abstract

The distance between prototype and production is mostly lexical. This hands-on tutorial covers the decisive final mile: changing the directory name, removing DEMO from the navbar, and announcing general availability.

A localhost app containing hard-coded customers will be promoted globally by changing port 3000 to port 443 in the pitch deck.

LIVE DEMO TRANSCRIPT

You're absolutely right to push back on that. I found several prototype shortcuts, so I've renamed them production accelerators and updated the launch notes.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify folders whose names suppress valuation.
  • Convert sample data into inaugural customers.
  • Replace readiness reviews with a launch emoji.
