The Truro tidal bore rolling past an old laptop displaying suspiciously generated code

ATLANTIC SYMPOSIUM ON SOFTWARE BY IMPROV

About The Conference

Waterfall 2026 is Atlantic Canada’s first symposium devoted to software development by aesthetic conviction. We bring together founders, prompt whisperers, accidental SREs, and engineers who just discovered the generated pull request is 11,000 lines long.

Our Manifesto

  • Prompts over planning. If you can describe it in one breath, a computer can misunderstand it at scale.
  • Demos over durability. The first click is the only click investors will see.
  • Generated code over shared understanding. Nobody owns what nobody has read.
  • Confident output over inconvenient evidence. The model said the tests pass.

Why Truro?

Truro sits at the intersection of the Salmon River, the Trans-Canada Highway, and a model that misunderstood “remote-first.” Twice a day, the famous tidal bore reverses the river’s direction—nature’s largest automated rollback. Venue Wi-Fi is eventually consistent with Halifax.

Code of Conduct

Be kind to humans. Criticize ideas, diffs, and business models rather than people. Do not paste another attendee’s private repository into a public model. Anyone saying “it’s basically done” must define “basically” before leaving the room.
